I will spend more time reviewing that forum article you linked: on a quick review I'm not entirely sure it is what I am after, as the OP in that post seems to have tried using the 'one-click deployment' which I have not looked into customizing.Quick Start – Outlook is a very convenient email client that allows you to easily manage multiple email accounts in one place. I do not think there is going to be any time spent in actually recreating the Exchange environment. I learned this evening that they have a month-old backup available of our 'newer' domain controller but it's not a high-priority at the moment. We have a second AD environment (it was in fact the original that was never decommissioned) that luckily still had the majority of our user base. This was deemed necessary when it was discovered that only the network edition offered some functionality (mobile sync being the biggest thing at the present moment).

The agent server is the free version, the admin server is the network edition (commercial version). I should have been a bit more specific in my original post, and I've gone back and modified it now.

Yes, I understand that if they would just install Zimbra Desktop we can avoid this whole mess in the first place- but that's not an option at the moment.ĭoes anyone have any experience with Zimbra and getting it to work with an Outlook/Exchange environment? Any advice/help/pointers would be greatly appreciated. I have my pst and ost files from Outlook still handy, I'm thinking there -has- to be some way to convert this data but the ZCS Connector seems to be the only thing. I KNOW YOU CAN'T SEE THE SERVER, IT DOESN'T EXIST If I try to have the Connector to Outlook point to my default outlook account, I get an error: "Could not open the default message store" I set up a new mail account using the control panel>users>mail and set it as my default but the ZCS connector recognized the fact it is not an Exchange/Outlook account.

Note: I set up an IMAP account in outlook but it can not sync mail because Outlook is stuck in offline mode If I select Use Old Data, it puts me into offline mode and I cannot ever get 'online' If I select Use Temporary, an error comes up that says "The server is unavailable" its only options are retry, work offline, and cancel. You can connect to the temporary mailbox or work offline with all of your old data.(etc.) A temporary mailbox exists, but might not have all your previous data. "Your mailbox has been temporarily moved on Microsoft Exchange server. When I try to load Outlook 2010 I am prompted with the following: I've read over the manual's for Zimbra ZCS Connector for Outlook but it falls short on troubleshooting steps prior to a completed installation. The problem here is that my boss wants me to get Zimbra to use the old Outlook data.

We set up a clustered environment: 172.20.0.58 is the 'admin' (which is running a trial of the commercial edition of Zimbra-we'll likely purchase it) and 172.20.0.15 is our 'agent(will remain using the freeware version).' So far so good, we fixed a lot of our problems by making sure the agent server was able to use DNS for outbound delivery instead of looping back to the admin for outbound messages - we had the ISP ensure our PTR records were updated to the new mailserver. We decided to go to try our hand at Zimbra (Release 7.2.0_GA_2669) on an Ubuntu machine. I've been tasked with getting the mailserver environment back into operation.

Somehow Windows was able to connect to it and it FUBAR'd the data another team member of mine is going through Triton's recommended data-recovery people probably next week. It was about 85% virtualized and we lost the vSphere controller along with the SAN being corrupted. The call center I work at had a pretty catastrophic failure. I'm at wits end and I'm really not wanting to use one of my free support incidents (while on trial with the new solution) for this just yet.

The error I get stems from the MAPI server being unavailable. Any insight into Zimbra is an added bonus. I need help getting Exchange 2010 back into online mode despite the previous server no longer being available.
